Following the final whistle at CCS, Gabriel Osho spoke to Cardiff City TV.
Impressing the home crowd in sunny South Wales, the centre-back reflected on a positive ending to pre-season as the Bluebirds defeated Italian heavyweights AS Roma.
“The feeling in the changing room is good,” began Gabriel. “I think we could’ve all been a bit worried after we lost to Midtjylland by six!
“Since then I think we’ve just been gradually getting better, so it was a good test today against a really good team, so we’re just happy to win.
Reflecting on his time in a blue shirt so far, Osho looks to continue to build upon past performances, with a return to competitive action coming next week.
“You feel more settled with time, so I’m happy to be here,” he explained. “I was happy last year, it was a tough start, but I’m looking forward to this season.
“It’s going to be a tougher test this season but I came here to get promoted from League One and then push on from this league as well, so I’m excited.
“There’s still things to work on, and that’s what pre-season games are for. I’m sure we’ll look back over it on Monday, what we could’ve done better. Sometimes we’re going to get it wrong when we want to be as brave as we’ll be playing, but you just hope that 97% of the time we go and win the ball like we did high up the pitch and score goals like we did.
He concluded: “What you love as a player are challenges, so we’re going to see them. It’ll be a good first league game against Wrexham, obviously it’ll be a good game against Swindon Town first, but in terms of the league it’s a tough first game. Everyone is just excited.”
