City will travel to Gloucestershire for their penultimate pre-season fixture against National League side Forest Green Rovers.

The Bluebirds have never faced Rovers in a competitive fixture, but there have been multiple pre-season friendlies between the sides, who share some players from their respective recent histories.

Across the five meetings between the clubs, there has been a mix of results, with City winning twice. After a 1-0 loss at The New Lawn Stadium in 2012, when the clubs first met, the Bluebirds travelled back to face Rovers the following summer, which produced the most eventful meeting between the clubs.

City came out with a 4-3 victory, which included a first goal at the club for Andreas Cornelius as well as goals from Nicky Maynard, Peter Whittingham and Craig Noone.

Kieffer Moore...

Across the five friendlies, two players have featured for Rovers against City before going on to play for the Bluebirds, including Kieffer Moore, who scored a penalty to equalise for Rovers after Federico Macheda put the Bluebirds ahead back in 2016.

Moore featured 35 times for Rovers, finding the scoresheet seven times for the National League side, which included five goals in their promotion-winning season from the National League, before he made a move to fellow National League side Torquay in January of that season. Moore climbed the footballing ladder across five clubs before moving to the Welsh capital after an impressive 10 goals for Wigan Athletic the previous season.

Moore joined up with Neil Harris' side ahead of the 2020/21 season, and scored 20 times in that league campaign, being the first to hit that milestone since Jay Bothroyd ten years earlier.

Ebou Adams

It's not only Moore who faced the Bluebirds in a Forest Green shirt before later wearing City blue, as Gambian international Ebou Adams played in the two clubs' most recent meeting, where City won 2-1. Adams was a crucial part of the Nailsworth-based side's League Two title-winning season, and made over 100 appearances for them before he made the switch from Gloucestershire to South Wales.

Just like Adams, striker Connor Wickham switched from Rovers to City, joining during the 2022/23 season. Wickham, who made a name for himself during his time at Crystal Palace and Sunderland, scored nine times in 20 appearances for Rovers in League Two before joining City under Sabri Lamouchi, where he scored the opener in a crucial win over Mick McCarthy's Blackpool as City battled to remain in the Sky Bet Championship.
