Siobhan Walsh celebrates scoring for Cardiff City Women

Defender Walsh has played a key part in leading the side to winning the Adran Premier, Adran Trophy and Bute Energy Welsh Cup.

“I appreciate being nominated," Siobhan said. "We’ve said all year that we wouldn’t have achieved what we have without each other. To win what we have, the defence, midfield and the strikers have all helped. We set out with a plan this season and we’ve executed that well.

“Our other players who have been nominated, they’ve had excellent seasons and I’m really proud of them. They’ve been recognised with their nominations and they have very bright futures ahead of them."

Midfielder Watkins, who was named our Player of the Season at the end of the campaign, added: "I’m really happy to have been nominated for the award and grateful to have been recognised.

"As a team, we’ve worked so hard and also on a personal level, I’ve put in a lot of effort to be the best I can possibly be. I’m very lucky to be playing in a team full of quality footballers, they bring the best out of me, which I’m thankful for.

"It’s a huge achievement to win the treble and make history. We knew we were capable of doing it and just wanted to prove to everyone else that we could. We couldn’t have done a better job.

"I’m extremely proud of all of our achievements this year as a squad and it was an amazing feeling to win an individual award at the end of the season."
