Joel Colwill spoke to Cardiff City TV following the Bluebirds’ draw at home to Stockport County.
The midfielder got on the scoresheet to draw City level in the first half.
“We wanted three points today, but it’s another point in the right direction,” Joel began. “We have to take every point we can get.
“It was a tough game. They're a good team and we knew that coming into the today.
"We just tried to play our football, and I thought we did play well for large parts of the game. Unfortunately, we couldn't get the win, but I thought we played well.
“I’m always happy to score and to be on the scoresheet, but we had a good team performance today and that was the main thing. It’s a shame we couldn’t get three points, but we go again on Tuesday.”
Having faced two teams that are currently in the Play-Off places in Bradford City and Stockport County, the young midfielder hailed the resilience of the team.
“Bradford and Stockport are two of the toughest teams in the league,” Joel continued. “We wanted six points out of six in this run, but to get four is good and we will go into Tuesday trying to get another three to add to our tally.
“We’ve grown throughout this season. We’ve played some good stuff throughout the season but our resilience around the Christmas period and this run of games has been really good.
"Hopefully we can continue our good form until the end of the season and good things will come from it.”
Colwill ended by looking ahead to Tuesday’s fixture against Barnsley.
“We know Barnsley are a good team,” Joel ended. “We will prepare in the right way for them.
"It’s another important game for us but we want seven points out of nine from this run of tough games.
“We will go into Tuesday playing our way of playing, and hopefully we’ll get three points.”
