Matt Turner spoke to Cardiff City TV after his making his debut for the Bluebirds in today’s 2-1 win vs. Peterborough United.
“It was brilliant.” Matt began. “I’ve been here now for four years now and to play today was an incredible thing, with my parents in the stand watching, so an incredibly proud day.”
“I got the call last night. The gaffer called me to say I’m playing - he was really pleased with me in training, and he gave me a shot today, and hopefully he is pleased with the performance.”

Matt’s performance included some crucial saves, most notably a valuable stop deep into the second half.
“It’s part of the job. I’m there to make saves and contribute where I can for the team, and if I can do that, then great.”
“We’re delighted with the result. The attitude in the changing room is unmatched. It was brilliant and even better when you come from behind, so we’ll see what happens next at Port Vale.
“The future is bright! The average age today is probably low 20’s, I think [Ryan] Wintle was the oldest player, so it’s an incredible thing for the boys, a great experience and hopefully the future is bright for Cardiff City. We’re back in tomorrow and looking to get ready and perform as best we can against Port Vale.”
