City U18’s continue their PDL campaign this weekend with a trip to face Brentford on Saturday, February 28th.
The fixture will kick-off at 11:30am at Brentford FC Training Ground.

“We’re looking forward to this game.” Tom began. “It will be a different challenge and a different game of football to what we faced last weekend. I think Brentford are one of the stronger teams in the league and we know what their threats can be.”
“We’ve spent time this week trying to deal with those threats and being prepared as best as we can be while also building on some of the positive aspects we saw in the Bristol game. There was a lot for the lads to learn from that game, so we’re taking time this week to ensure we had a good week in training and get the boys ready for this weekend.”
RECENT RESULT
The young Bluebirds fell to a narrow 1-0 defeat to Bristol City last weekend.
City began the game recording the bulk of the chances, with the best chance of the half coming after 20 minutes when Harry Watts was brought down in the area and awarded a penalty, however Jack Sykes’ penalty was saved to keep the scores all square.
The visitors were awarded a spot kick off their own on the stroke of half time, with Desmond Kumih Barimah converting his attempt to give his side the lead at the break.
Both sides were reduced to ten players during the second half, and despite continuing on the front foot, were unable to find a leveller. Sykes came closest to an equaliser after his ball into the area cannoned off the post but suffered their first defeat in five league matches.
City come into the next game sat in third position in the PDL standings, just four points off leaders Charlton Athletic. Saturday’s opponents Brentford are currently sat in eighth place.
