MATCH SUMMARY

In a competitive contest in Leckwith, City created chances to go ahead, with midfielder Tiger Tobin twice going close.

He forced the goalkeeper into a save from a dangerous free-kick before having an effort from the edge of the area deflect wide.

The Bluebirds' best chance fell to winger Josh Itsindo, whose strike from inside the area was also kept out.

Our visitors were clinical in the second half, as goals in the 60th and 70th minute put them on top. Leo Papirnyk pulled a goal back from the penalty spot late on but it wasn't enough for City.

Next up is a PDL Cup clash with Swindon Town on August 29th, taking place at Cardiff International Sports Campus.

Tom Prickett
PRE-MATCH | TOM PRICKETT

Ahead of Saturday's home bow, we caught up with centre-back Tom Prickett.

"On the opening day, Bolton were a strong side and they set up very well. To get the three points and score three goals, it was a great start for us. Getting the equaliser was great for me especially with the way we went on to win the game.

"Scoring is always an amazing feeling. For me, it's about helping my team and contributing to coming away with three points.

"We're definitely growing as a squad. It can already be seen that we've gotten stronger. We've had to work together both in training and in the opening game, so we're building as a team.

"On Saturday, we're expecting another challenge against Fleetwood. They're a good side and they'll come here aiming to get a result, so we'll need to start well and show what we're capable of. If we play with the same intensity and togetherness as last Saturday, we'll have a good chance.

"Momentum is a huge thing in sport. To get it is difficult but we hope that on Saturday, we can get a positive result and keep building."

Tiger Tobin
RECENT RESULT

On the opening day of the season, City were required to show character to come from behind and showed exactly that.

Trailing at the interval, captain Tom Prickett found an equaliser for the Bluebirds, before Leo Papirnyk put the side ahead.

The result was secured by a brilliant goal from midfielder Tiger Tobin, who drove into the box and finished clinically.
