Luke Pearce
PRE-MATCH | LUKE PEARCE

Ahead of the contest, forward Luke Pearce said: “Confidence is high, we're playing well at the moment. We’re growing as a team, and I think results are just going to keep getting better.

“Tuesday was a good show, and I think we showed what we can do. The two games before were good performances, but we didn’t quite get across the line. So it’s good to get a result, and now we need to build on that.

“It’s key to get through to the next stage of the competition. We want progress in every competition, so it’s important to get a win on Friday to help us try and get into the next stage.

“I got some minutes in the Arsenal game but it was good to get minutes and a goal on Tuesday. The aim is to keep building up minutes, keep building the performances, and hopefully get back to where I was in pre-season before I got injured.”

Troy Perrett
LAST TIME OUT

The young Bluebirds added three points to their PDL tally on Tuesday afternoon, claiming victory away from home against Charlton Athletic.

City went in ahead by a goal at the break, thanks to an early strike from Pearce.

The second half saw the visitors extend their lead, as both Troy Perrett and Jake Davies added their names to the scoresheet in South-east London.

The win puts City in good stead ahead of a busy run of fixtures.
