City's U21s fell to a 2-1 defeat to bournemouth on Tuesday afternoon.
MATCH SUMMARY
The visitors took the lead in the 12th minute after winning the ball deep in City’s half, with Charlie Stevens squaring the ball to Koby Mottoh who placed the ball past Ewan Griffiths in goal.
The young Bluebirds dominated possession but were unable to create a clear-cut opportunity to level the scores before the break.
However, City came out brightly for the second half. Troy Perrett equalised for the hosts, capitalising on a misplaced pass from Cherries goalkeeper Kai Crampton, and finished in some style from just outside the area to level the scored.
The hosts looked the more likely side to take the lead, however Malcolm Dacosta Gonazalez pounced on a short pass from Griffiths, taking the ball around the keeper to retake the lead.
City are back in action next on Tuesday 4th November, hosting QPR at Cardiff International Sports Campus, with a kick-off of 7pm.

LAST TIME OUT
Cardiff City's U21 side got off the mark in their Premier League Cup campaign last week, battling to earn a point on the road against Queens Park Rangers.
Having fallen behind by two goals in the first half, the young Bluebirds levelled the score during the second, securing the draw against the R's.
Trey George netted City's first with a neat strike from inside the area, before Troy Perrett slotted home from the penalty spot just past the hour mark.
In the PDL, City sit in third on the South division table, and head into Tuesday's fixture undefeated in five league matches.
Last time out in the competition, Gabriel Keita and Noah Williams both netted as the young Bluebirds defeated Bristol City in Leckwith.
