An early setback saw Joe Bevan give the hosts the lead after 17 minutes. The young Bluebirds reacted well and levelled in the 28th minute through Mannie Barton, who found the net after being picked out by Trey George.
Jaydon Banel fired Burnley back ahead two minutes later, meaning the hosts went into the break with the lead.
With 65 minutes on the clock, the contest was settled by a goal from Vernon Masara, who secured a 3-1 win for Burnley.
