Darren Purse
PRE-MATCH | DARREN PURSE

We caught up with Darren Purse ahead of this Friday's fixture.

"We can take a lot from our last few performances. If we keep building on those and the structure we have within the group, hopefully we can continue on a positive run and get a win over Swansea City.

"They're always big games against them and we have to manage our emotions during the 90 minutes.

"It's about managing those moments and if we do that well enough on Friday, we have the quality within the side to get a positive result."

Caden Voice
PRE-MATCH | CADEN VOICE

Ahead of the contest, defender Caden Voice, who has recently joined the Club, said: “I’ve settled in well. It’s a great group of lads, and I like working under Pursey. I’ve settled in with the football quite well as well, adapted to the change, and I’m liking the way we play.

“I like the area. I think the lads have helped me well, giving me tips on places to go so they’ve been really supportive, which has helped me a lot.

“We’re all looking forward to playing in the derby. It’ll be a game where we have to compete, battle and earn the right to play. I can’t wait to play, derby games are my favourite. It’ll be a tough game, but it should be a great game.”

LAST TIME OUT

City's U21 side returned to winning ways with a convincing victory at CCS on Tuesday afternoon.

The hosts took the lead thanks to an early goal from Jake Davies, who headed home from Charlie O'Brien's cross into the area. Dominating much of possession throughout the first half, there were to be more goals to come after the interval, as City upped the pressure and showed a more clinical side of their game.

Sekou Kaba doubled the lead not long after the break, finishing well as Jake Davies found him at the back post. The visitors would respond with a goal of their own 15 minutes from full time, as Daniel Higgs' save rebounded into the path of a U's player, who drew the score closer.

Responding quickly, substitutes Josh Beecher and Leo Papirnyk combined well to restore the two-goal lead minutes later, as Beecher's cross found the forward inside the area before Leo slid the ball home.

Beecher bagged his second assist before the full-time whistle blew, as a similar cross found Mannie Barton, who finished well after taking a touch, drilling the ball past the reach of the 'keeper.
