Cardiff City's U21 side continue their Premier League Cup campaign against Sunderland on Wednesday morning - 11am KO.

Entry for this fixture at the Cardiff International Sports Stadium is free for all, with Cardiff City TV also livestreaming the fixture from the Club's official YouTube channel!

Wednesday's fixture comes after the original PL Cup meeting between the two sides was postponed due to a frozen pitch.

Darren Purse's side have won two and lost two of their four PL Cup fixtures to date, with another recent clash at Wolverhampton Wanderers also falling foul of the icy conditions.

The Bluebirds defeated Sunderland 2-0 in the first meeting between the sides in this competition, with two goals from Caleb Hughes securing a valuable victory in the North East.

If City can record another victory over the Black Cats on home soil, it would be a huge step towards securing safe passage to the next phase of the competition.

Caleb Hughes

Speaking ahead of the fixture, City attacker Caleb Hughes said: "If we get one more win we have a good chance of qualifying, so it would be good to do that against Sunderland.

"We've had some of the senior players with us recently, and they've helped us a lot. I'm looking forward to it, especially because it's been quite a while without a game."

Morgan Wigley added: "When the older guys step down, we build that relationship with them on and off the pitch. It makes things a lot easier, and they're all really helpful.

"We take each game one-by-one, and we try our best to show what we're about. I think the boys have been excellent in the Cup so far. It's a very important game for us, and it's a big thing for us. Hopefully we can get the win."
