Ollie Tanner spoke to Cardiff City TV after scoring his first goal of the Sky Bet Championship season in Tuesday night's 5-1 win over Watford.
"We knew we had to start quick after the weekend." Ollie began. "I think the game Watford played on Saturday, they were on the back foot, so we knew we could take advantage of a fast start. That was the message from inside, and I think we showed that on the pitch.
"We were just focused on ourselves and about putting in a good performance here. We know if we play the way we want to play and do the right things, we can hurt any team and win any game. I think that was the message, focus on ourselves and do the right things.
"We know what we can do - we've shown it tonight, and we've shown it in previous games. It's just about putting the performances together. Tonight we did, and now we've just got to take that into Saturday and the games moving forward."
It was a trademark Tanner finish to make it 4-0 on the stroke of half time, with a fierce left-footed strike from the right hand side of the penalty area.
Ollie continued: "Joel Bagan said that as soon as I took my touch, he knew it was going to be a goal! It's nice that he said that. I've been working on that a lot in training, and it's nice to put it into the games and show what I can do.
"The more you do it, the better you get. It’s so enjoyable to play for Brian and his staff. The way we play, it’s an absolute delight to be on the pitch. All I can say is thanks to them for setting us up like that!
"I feel like I'm in a much better place now, and I just want to take my game to the next level. I'm only going to do that by working hard and keeping my head down."
