Dylan Lawlor spoke to Cardiff City TV following our 1-0 victory over Wigan Athletic on Sunday afternoon.
The centre-back produced an assured performance to play his part in keeping a clean sheet, as City dominated possession throughout.
“You’ve always got to be switched on defensively," Dylan began. "Maybe on another day, we could have put a few more past them but it’s a good performance overall and great to get the three points.
“It’s about keeping the momentum going now. There was a bit of disappointment after the draw at Wycombe [Wanderers] but we’ve bounced back today and we’ve got all eyes on Leyton Orient away now.
“I’ve loved it playing all the games. We’ve had a bit of rotation which has kept me fresh as well."
The key moment came from Dylan's centre-back partner, as Calum Chambers netted a special strike from distance.
Dylan continued: “I think everyone knows how good of a footballer he is and how he is around the changing room with his experience.
"Him as a person and a character, he’s just an unbelievable bloke and a real inspiration for me.
“He has a huge influence. He leads by example every day. I was buzzing for him to score because he's deserved that."
Next up for the Bluebirds is an away clash against Leyton Orient on Saturday, January 10th. After an impressive campaign so far, the City defender has set his sights on further improvement.
“We can fine tune our game and find spaces even more," Dylan added. "We work on that on the training pitch and it’s a testament to the coaches what they’re drilling into us.
“I’m not one to look at the table. It’s just about taking it one game at a time and record three points today, then build on that.”
