Wintle pre-Birmingham City | We've got to show what we're about
Ahead of Saturday's return to Sky Bet Championship action, Ryan Wintle spoke to the press at Cardiff City Stadium.
As the Bluebirds looking for a return to winning ways against Blues, the City midfielder discussed the strong competition and team spirit within the squad:
“Everyone’s buying into it," Ryan began. "At the end of the day we’re all professionals; whether you’ve been here five years or one year we’ve all got a job to do, and hopefully we can all muck together and do that.
“There are probably around six or seven midfielders, so your shirt is never safe. You’ve got to perform in games as well as in training, and keep a hold of the shirt.
“We beat Norwich and people thought we could people everyone, but football’s not that easy. We’ve just got to bounce back now and show what this club’s about. Hopefully we’ve got the players who can turn it on its head and get the win on Saturday."
With only one side having won both of their opening two Sky Bet Championship fixtures so far this season, Wintle reflected on the level of competition that the campaign promises.
“Everyone can beat everyone, it’s why it’s a great league to be in," Ryan continued. "We’ve just got to try to put runs together ourselves and try to be on the right end of results.
“It’s about bouncing back and taking it game by game, and build towards the top end of the table, which is what we’re trying to be.
"We’re all aiming high as this football club should do, so we’ve just got to make sure that we achieve that.”
