Yousef Salech pens contract extension
We are delighted to announce that Yousef Salech has committed his future to the Bluebirds.

The striker has signed a one-year extension to his current deal, meaning his contract now runs until the summer of 2030.

Hailing from Hellerup, Denmark, Yousef joined the Club from Swedish side IK Sirius in January 2025.

Having made a large contribution to Brian Barry-Murphy’s side’s positive campaign to date, he has netted 12 goals in 26 league appearances this season.

Speaking to Cardiff City TV, Yousef said: "I'd like to thank the Club and of course Tan Sri Vincent for putting their faith in me for the future.

“I’m very glad to extend my contract. I’ve only been here for a year and I’ve enjoyed it. I feel like I’m at a Club where I’m wanted.

“I love playing at Cardiff City Stadium in front of our fans. It was very obvious for me to agree to a deal here to stay longer.

“I appreciate the fans’ support a lot. It’s something I take pride in and I try to do as well as I can for them.

“We’re in the middle of the season and it’s all about what lies ahead. We need to enjoy the ride but not look too far ahead to what we want to achieve this season; it’s about enjoying working towards that.”

City head coach Brian Barry-Murphy added: "I'm really pleased that Yousef sees his future at the Club.

"He's getting better day-by-day and setting an example. The most exciting thing for me is that he's really humble and willing to try and improve all parts of his game everyday in training.

"He already is, and will continue to be, a huge player for us moving forward."
