Joel Bagan joined the club from Southampton in July 2018, and made his First Team debut in February 2020.

The left-footed defender thrived within the Academy set-up during his first twelve months at the Club, captaining the U18 side before making a loan move to Notts County.

Joel made eight League and Cup appearances for the Bluebirds in the 2020/21 campaign, and scored three times in 28 senior outings during a breakout 2021/22 season.

Joel spent the 2023/24 campaign on loan with S.V. Zulte Waregem in Belgium before returning to Cardiff in the summer of 2024. He amassed 36 appearances in all competitions during 2024/25.
