Morrison: We want to try and win the game!

Club News

Sean Morrison addressed the press and media at the Vale Resort on Friday afternoon, ahead of his team’s Emirates FA Cup Fourth Round tie against Manchester City.

Previewing Sunday’s encounter, the City skipper told us just how much he is looking forward to playing in front of a sell-out crowd in the Welsh capital.

“It’ll be really nice to have a full stadium,” Sean began. “I’m sure the atmosphere will be very good and we’ve just got to look forward to it.

“We know the pressure isn’t on us, so we can go out there and give them a really good game. If we get in their faces and do what we do best we might stand a chance.

“It’s a nice game to have. The FA Cup is such a good competition, anything can happen, anyone can beat anyone, but we’re probably facing the best team in Europe at the minute. We can go out there in front of a full crowd and enjoy it - we want to try and win the game.

City’s No.4 went on to explain that facing off against the Premier League leaders could provide the Bluebirds with momentum in their league campaign.

“The way the Gaffer set the team up [against Mansfield Town] – with probably the strongest team at the time – shows that he wants to do well in the Cup this year,” he continued. “Maybe he feels it can propel our season and get us into those automatic places.

“They’ve got some of the best players in the world all playing in the same team. The way they play is fantastic to watch so it’s going to be hard to deal with, but the boys are aware of what we’ve got to do.

“It’s going to be a tough task – we’re fully aware of that. We know if we’re really at it and we catch them on a little bit of an off day then we’ve got every chance.”
