SOUTH WALES POLICE | OPERATION GOAL
We want supporters of all ages to enjoy the match in a safe, welcoming, and positive environment. To help achieve this, South Wales Police and Cardiff City FC are working together throughout the season to address incidents including youth-related anti-social behaviour (ASB) linked to matchdays.
We know that most young fans attend matches responsibly and are a valued part of the football community. However, on occasion, incidents of ASB can occur before, during, or after fixtures.
Op Goal is a partnership approach designed to engage with young supporters and prevent incidents before they occur. Working together, South Wales Police and Cardiff City FC are committed to promoting positive behaviour, building positive relationships with young supporters and helping ensure everyone can enjoy matchdays safely and responsibly.
Most supporters attend games to enjoy the occasion and support the team positively. Where concerns are identified, partners will work with young people and their families to address issues early, provide support where appropriate and encourage positive choices. Where necessary, proportionate action may also be taken by the Club or police.
We Ask All Supporters To:
Treat fellow fans, staff, residents and businesses with respect
Engage positively with Designated Football Officers
Follow the guidance of police, stewards and event staff
Speak up if you witness behaviour that causes concern
Help create a positive atmosphere that reflects the values of Cardiff City FC
Thank you for your support and cooperation. We hope you enjoy the game and help make matchday a positive experience for everyone.

REMEMBERING ABERFAN
Sixty years ago this week, on October 21st 1966, the South Wales coal mining village of Aberfan in the Merthyr Vale was devastated.
An avalanche of coal waste crashed into Pant Glas Junior School and nearby houses on that fateful day, killing 144 people – 116 of them children.
Ahead of kick-off, a minute’s silence will be held in memory of those who lost their lives.
This game is dedicated to a generation lost – and the courage and determination of the Aberfan survivors and their families.
Today, and always, we remember Aberfan.
