WE WILL REMEMBER THEM

At our Remembrance fixture, we welcome the 1st Battalion Welsh Guards who are currently based in Cyprus.

The 1st Battalion Welsh Guards were formed on 26th February 1915 by the order of HM King George V and since that day the Battalion has deployed on every major conflict including the Falklands War, Iraq and Afghanistan.

Leading out the teams and laying wreaths will be Captain Dan Cope from the Welsh Guards and Corporal Nathan Howells from the Royal Air Force. Colour Sergeant Paul Blakelock from the Coldstream Guards will play the Last Post.

The Welsh Guards have grown close links with our Football Club over the years and want to thank everyone at Cardiff City for the continued support and hospitality. They are very pleased to be here today as the Club marks the yearly Remembrance events to remember those who paid the ultimate sacrifice.
