KNOW YOUR OPPONENT | CLUB PROFILE
As stated on Forest Green Rovers' official website - their long term ambition is to reach the Championship. The first steps for that will be achieving a return to the EFL. The Green Army, managed by former Welsh international Robbie Savage, spent seven years in the Football League from 2017-2024 before suffering consecutive relegations, going from League One to the National League in two seasons.
Rovers finished the 2024/25 season in third place, missing out in the play-offs, while it was similar heartbreak last term, finishing seventh and missing out in the play-off quarter finals against Boreham Wood.
Until Dale Vince took over the Club in 2010, the highest FGR had ever reached was the National League.
KNOW YOUR OPPONENT | THEIR SUMMER SO FAR
Forest Green Rovers will be without Laurent Mendy for the pre-season clash with the Bluebirds, with the creative player joining Heart of Midlothian in the Scottish top flight for a record fee.
Robbie Savage has welcomed nine new players to the team so far, including forward Omari Patrick (Tranmere Rovers, pictured above), winger Bryan Ifeanyi (Carshalton Athletic) and central defender Kyle Ajayi (Hemel Hempstead).
