This hugely important event, now in its fourth year, will take place at Cardiff City Stadium in conjunction with a number of activities - including a Family Funfair in the away car park - to help raise funds for the charitable arm of Cardiff City Football Club.

Foundation Day, established in 2014, has also once again seen members of the Cardiff City senior squad and management make their own financial contributions towards the Foundation’s cause.

An auction for match-worn Bluebirds shirts will also be live following the game via Cardiff City FC's Facebook & Twitter accounts and the Foundation's website (CLICK HERE).

WHAT IS THE CARDIFF CITY FC FOUNDATION?

Cardiff City FC Foundation is the official charity of Cardiff City Football Club, established in 2009. The Foundation uses the power of sport and their partnership with Cardiff City FC to engage local communities with education.

During the 2015/16 season, the Foundation provided over 237,000 hours of activities to more than 12,000 unique individuals.

Ahead of this year’s Foundation Day, Cardiff City FC First Team players and management have made a generous financial commitment to support the great work of the Foundation and in particular its ‘All Skilled Up’ literacy project. Quite simply, the project aims to increase participants’ basic skills in reading, writing and verbal communication – using football as the learning tool and Cardiff City Football Club as the hook for engagement.

Cardiff City FC Foundation Director, Gavin Hawkey said: “Foundation Day allows us to celebrate the achievements of our participants and the focus this year will be on the impact of our education projects.

“We hope that partners, funders, fans and friends of the Foundation will be inspired by the journeys of some of our participants.”

Cardiff City FC Executive Director & CEO Ken Choo added: “We are extremely proud of our association with the Cardiff City FC Foundation and indeed the fantastic work its diligent and committed staff continue to do for our local communities.

“We’re very much looking forward to what promises to be another terrific Foundation Day this Saturday.”

All supporters with a valid match ticket for Cardiff City vs. Brentford are invited to enjoy the Family Funfair ahead of the game and are encouraged to get involved with the fund-raising activities around Cardiff City Stadium - as well as the post-match shirt auction.
