Warnock: "We'll stand up to be counted"

Club News

Neil Warnock held a pre-match press conference on Friday morning at the Vale Resort.

The City boss previewed Saturday’s trip to Bolton Wanderers, which kicks off a busy festive calendar for the Bluebirds.

“All my players know that this will be as hard as playing Wolves,” Neil said of Saturday’s game. “[Bolton] will not want to lose twice at home on the trot, which very rarely happens.

“They got beat last week even though they had a lot of the play and a few chances. We know what it’s going to be like. They’ve got some good players and a good manager in Phil [Parkinson].

“First of all, we’ll stand up and be counted. It’s going to be a challenge and we’ll make sure we’ll start on the front foot.”

The Gaffer went on to reflect on City’s first half of the season, as we head towards the New Year.

“At Christmas and Easter you get quite a number of games,” he continued. “We looked at the end of October, and then 1st January, as milestones of where we want to be - and we’re in front of that at the minute. We want to maintain that and stay up there.

“I do believe we can improve in the second half of the season - and that’s what we’ve got to strive to do.”
