Warnock: "They are always fabulous games!"

Club News

Neil Warnock held a pre-match press conference this Friday afternoon, ahead of the Bluebirds' weekend trip to face Bristol City.

The City boss was in positive spirits as he relished travelling to Ashton Gate for Saturday afternoon's Severnside Derby.

"They are always fabulous games, aren’t they? Yes I get some stick but I appreciate that. I think it’s a fabulous stadium and a fabulous club," began the Gaffer.

"Steve Lansdown has done an amazing job there over the years. Coming from Cornwall like I do, he’s really been a shining light in the West Country.

"Then we've got our Club, which is for me a fabulous club as well - full of passion and the Welsh drive that they’ve got. I'm sure that the fans are looking forward to it, like the players are.

"We are going into it slightly as underdogs, with the form that they're in. But I think that’s even better for us. We know we’ve got to be on our game to be able to compete with them, the way they’re scoring."

The Gaffer went on to explain how pleased he was with the performance of Omar Bogle in Tuesday evening's 3-1 victory over Ipswich Town.

"I thought he did well on Tuesday and Danny Ward did well," he added. "He could have had two in 20 minutes when he came on.

"It couldn’t have worked out better in terms of my explanation on why we needed Bogle, on Tuesday night. The Championship is relentless, you do need it. If you want to be successful you need those options.”
