Match Reports
The Bluebirds earned a crucial three points on the road, defeating Blackpool 3-1 on Good Friday.

Connor Wickham, Sory Kaba and Joe Ralls hit the net for City in the first half, with Josh Bowler scoring a late consolation for the home side.

Sabri Lamouchi brought Connor Wickham, Romaine Sawyers and Mahlon Romeo into the starting XI for the battle with the Seasiders.

The home side controlled the opening 15 minutes at Bloomfield Road, but the tide quickly turned.

Wickham failed to turn in a cross with 17 minutes gone, but the determined forward wasn't to be denied his first Cardiff City goal, with that coming four minutes later.

Romeo's deep cross from the right was met by the former Sunderland man, who powered home a header, beating former Bluebird Curtis Nelson in the air to score.

The first half was all City after the opening goal, with Cedric Kipré and Jaden Philogene kept out by wonder saves from Welsh goalkeeper Chris Maxwell.

It got even better for Lamouchi's men after 37 minutes. The front two combined, with Wickham playing a chipped ball over the top to free strike partner Sory Kaba, who rounded Maxwell and slotted into an empty net.

A third goal came for the flying Bluebirds three minutes later, with Wickham involved once more.

The forward's cross evaded everybody in the middle of the box but City captain Joe Ralls, who took a touch before hitting it home right-footed to send the travelling support from South Wales in extremely happy at the interval.

The second half was a tighter game. James Husband had a good chance to reduce the deficit after 68 minutes, but he headed off target.

The hosts did manage to pull one back with 15 minutes remaining, as Josh Bowler tapped in at close range.

Despite a late onslaught from the home side, the Bluebirds held strong to confirm a deserved three points.
