Cardiff City were defeated by the Canaries on Saturday afternoon.

The visitors scored twice in quick succession late in the game to claim the three points after the Bluebirds had gone into the interval in the lead.

City started the match brightly, but found themselves a goal down after Gabriel Sara’s corner was flicked on by Kenny McLean at the front post, and tapped in by Christian Fassnacht.

City responded well and created numerous chances to level the scores, with Josh Bowler, Joe Ralls and Karlan Grant all having their sights at goal.

And it was Bowler who found the equaliser. Callum Robinson’s low cross was controlled by Bowler, who moved it onto his left foot and found the back of the net.

City went ahead just four minutes later through Robinson, who found space between the defence and headed home from close range from Jamilu Collins’ cross to lead at half time.

Norwich almost immediately brought the score level, however a huge block from Mark McGuinness denied Fassnacht getting his second of the afternoon.

Jak Alnwick was also instrumental in keeping the visitors out, making some key saves from Jonathan Rowe and Danny Batth.

Grant came close to doubling Cardiff’s lead midway through the second half, finding himself one-on-one with goalkeeper George Long. However, he was unable to get his shot off before the keeper came to claim.

The Canaries scored twice in the 82nd and 84th minute turn the result in their favour. Fassnacht picked up the ball in the box after a Sara goal and directed it towards the target, coming off Ryan Wintle to roll into the net.

The winner came from substitute Adam Idah, who finished following Alnwick’s initial save from Rowe.
