12 Days of #BluebirdsCrimbo 2021

12 Days of #BluebirdsCrimbo...

This year, we've decided to put a spotlight on small, local businesses that are run by City supporters, rewarding them for their efforts throughout the year.

As well as receiving a visit from members of the First Team squad, these deserving businesses have also been given some special gifts, all in the name of raising festive spirits!

NB. Bluebirds Crimbo visits took place earlier in December, prior to the introduction of the updated EFL protocol regarding COVID-19 issued on December 16th.

Ahead of the big day we'll also be giving away prizes to Season Ticket Holders, as a small token of thanks for their continued support.

If you are one of our lucky winners, please contact club@cardiffcityfc.co.uk to claim your prize!

Day 1 | Curtis Nelson & Little Friends Childcare

On the first day of Bluebirds Crimbo, Curtis Nelson made the trip up to Taff's Well, where he visited Alison, whose nursery Little Friends Childcare was nominated for the work that they've done despite numerous challenges over the last few years.

In February 2020, after Storm Dennis had left their building in a condition beyond repair, Alison and her staff were able to quickly set up to continue to offer childcare to local parents. Later in the year, and throughout the lockdowns brought about by COVID-19, Little Friends Childcare was there to support the children of essential workers.

Visiting Little Friends Childcare in Taff's Well, City centre-back Curtis Nelson dropped off some presents, including a signed Cardiff City shirt and 25 pairs of tickets for our upcoming home fixture against Blackburn Rovers, which Alison can distribute amongst her loyal customers!

Day 2 | Aden & Alex get in the festive spirit!

On the second day of Bluebirds Crimbo, Aden Flint and Alex Smithies surprised City fan Grant Fowler with a Christmas prize!

Day 3 | Will Vaulks & Victoria Fish Bar

On the third day of Bluebirds Crimbo, Will Vaulks visited Victoria Fish Bar in Whitchurch. For the past three years, the Fish Bar has opened its doors on Christmas Day, offering hot food free of charge to those most in need.

Last year, that offer was extended to include any NHS staff members, or anybody working on Christmas Day, in recognition of the long hours and difficult circumstances many have endured over the past twelve months. After handing out over 850 free meals last Christmas, they have decided to continue their generous offer this Christmas as well.

To say thank you for their continued generosity in our local community, Will visited the Fish Bar and dropped off a signed Cardiff City shirt and 25 pairs of tickets for our meeting with Blackburn Rovers at Cardiff City Stadium.

Day 4 | Marlon and Collo supply the Christmas cheer!

On the fourth day of Bluebirds Crimbo, Marlon Pack and James Collins revealed Season Ticket Holder Breeanna Thatcher as the latest #BluebirdsCrimbo winner!

Day 5 | Joe Ralls & Foreman Maths Tutoring

On the fifth day of Bluebirds Crimbo, Joe Ralls visited Foreman Maths Tutoring in Caerphilly, who have been offering maths tuition to pupils from South Wales and beyond since 2019.

During the pandemic, tutors Matthew and Leanne moved all of their sessions to remote delivery, making sure that high quality service was retained despite sessions taking place online. The business delivered their 1,000th session in November, and received the 'Tutoring Service of the Year Award' from Prestige Maths earlier in 2021.

Day 6 | Isaac and Bows reveal our latest prize winner!

On the sixth day of Bluebirds Crimbo, Isaac Vassell and Sam Bowen picked Season Ticket holder James Marlow as the latest winner of our Christmas giveaway!

Day 7 | Mark McGuinness & Spectacle Theatre Company

On the seventh day of Bluebirds Crimbo, Mark McGuinness visited Spectacle Theatre Company, who have now worked with schools and communities for over 30 years!

Despite the challenges that this year has brought, Stephen - who is a longtime City supporter - has continued to run Spectacle Theatre Company as they've encouraged young people to address issues that matter to them through theatre and drama.

They also work with people of all abilities, allowing them to develop confidence and make connections and friends.

Day 8 | Dillon and Leo keep the Christmas prizes coming!

On the eighth day of Bluebirds Crimbo, Dillon Phillips and Leandro Bacuna revealed that Season Ticket holder Joseph Crocker was the latest winner of our Christmas giveaway!

Based in Cilfynydd, the work done by Rain Maintenance Services has helped the rail network to continue to operate throughout the year, from transporting essential workers on their daily commute to helping freight trains deliver around the country.

Day 10 | Curtis and Will reveal our next winner!

On the tenth day of Bluebirds Crimbo, Curtis Nelson and Will Vaulks picked Season Ticket holder Daniel Price as the latest winner of our Christmas giveaway!

The skipper tried his hand at making some gingerbread men, with some inspiration from City teammates!
