following his arrival at Cardiff City Stadium earlier on Friday. cardiffcityfc.co.uk spoke exclusively to Kerim FreiNew loan acquisition

A highly rated young midfielder who is already part of the Turkish international set up, Frei comes from Fulham with a good reputation and the admiration of Cottagers boss Martin Jol.

“I’m looking forward to playing for Cardiff City, hopefully with some involvement tomorrow against Burnley,” said Kerim. “I think this is a really good opportunity for me and I want to help the team achieve success.

“The move happened really quickly as far as I’m aware; everything seemed to be done in a day or so between Cardiff and Fulham.

“The manager (Malky Mackay) said he’s happy to have me here when we spoke briefly earlier today. It was only a short training session this morning, but it was good to get out there with my new team-mates and get a feel for things. I can’t wait to get started now.”

In reference to what he can offer the Bluebirds, Kerim bashfully replied: “I’m the sort of player who will take defenders on and look to create for team-mates around me. I think the Manager knows what kind of player I am and that’s why he wanted to bring me to the Club.

“Cardiff are doing very well at the moment. We’re second in the League and I’m hoping we can win a lot of games during my spell here. This is new for me in as much as I’ve never played in the Championship before, but I’m really looking forward to the challenge.

“I’ve heard that Cardiff have great fans too, so I’m looking forward to seeing them for the first time and hopefully winning in front of them tomorrow.”
