“I’m very pleased with a point and with the fact that we are only the second team this season to prevent Cardiff from scoring,” said the Town manager.

“We played well, weathered a bit of a storm from their free-kicks and corners but we dealt with them well, and I thought that we could have nicked it right at the end through Frank Nouble on his debut for us.

“But I think that 0-0 was a fair result. Our ‘keeper hasn’t had a serious save to make, and I think that we had the best of the game in the latter stages.

“Before the game I’d have settled for a point. We sent on three substitute strikers, and I thought that they all did well. Our away form is improving and to come to Cardiff and get a point is a terrific result for us.”
