Admired full-back swaps Rams for the Premier League

Cardiff City is pleased to announce that John Brayford has signed for the Club from Derby County following the completion of his medical and paperwork.

The highly-rated defender has signed a four year deal at Cardiff City Stadium and will link up with his new team-mates ahead of City's pre-season fixture at Cheltenham Town on Saturday.

Twenty-five-year old right-back John made 117 appearances in total for the Rams following his move to Pride Park in May 2010. An ever present in Nigel Clough’s side, he notched up 43 appearances in all competitions for County last season, scoring three goals in the process.

Speaking exclusively to Cardiff City Player on Friday afternoon having completed his move, John said: "When I heard Cardiff were interested in signing me then I was obviously very interested, especially at the prospect of playing in the Premier League and testing myself at the highest level. Derby will always be a special Club to me, but this was an opportunity I couldn't ignore."
