Introducing - Port Talbot Town FC

Cooper’s men will be coming up against a number of familiar faces on Wednesday evening. Former defender and current Cardiff City Football in the Community manager Scott Young is the current man in charge at the Genquip Stadium, assisted by fellow FITC man Marc Cahill. The management duo took charge at Port Talbot after Mark Jones left the club following a four year stay. Despite a mini exodus of players and the introduction of many new faces in a short period of time, Young and Cahill inspired the Steelmen to a top-six finish last year.

A fantastic win over Carmarthen Town in the semi-finals of the Europa League play-off system was preceded by a bumper crowd final at the Genquip against Bala Town, though the North Wales side won the Final with a last minute winner to break the Steelmen's hearts. With high-profile signing Rhys Griffiths signing on for the coming campaign as well as a tenth season each as Port Talbot players for Lee John and Leigh De-Vulgt, Young and his side will be hoping to go one step further and secure that sort after European spot next season.

Young’s side have enjoyed a successful pre-season campaign thus far, with wins over Swansea City’s development side and Cambrian & Clydach. They start the 2013/14 Welsh Premier League campaign on Saturday 24th August with a trip to current title holders The New Saints.
