University of South Wales honours Cardiff City owner


today received an honorary doctorate from the University of South Wales.Tan Sri Vincent Tan


Tan Sri was presented the award in recognition of his outstanding contribution to international business and sport.


Speaking about his award Tan Sri said, “It is a great privilege for me to receive this Honorary Doctorate from the University of South Wales.  I am honoured to join the ranks of the many illustrious personalities to have received this award.


“It has been my honour to play a part in the success of Cardiff City Football club this season and to share in this great moment in Cardiff and Welsh history.  To be further conferred this award by the University of South Wales adds greatly to my joy and deepens the affinity I have for Cardiff, Wales and of course, the University of South Wales.”


Vice-Chancellor of the University Professor Julie Lydonsaid, “We are thrilled to be recognising Vincent’s outstanding contribution to international business and sport in Wales, he is certainly a most worthy recipient of this title.


As a university we have a strong partnership with Cardiff City Football club, hosting its training academy at our own sports part. We are proud to be honouring Tan Sri Vincent Tan and to further strengthening our links with the club.”
