“Scott, Martyn, James and Kevin are key additions to my backroom team, bringing experience, talent, enthusiasm and passion to our Football Club.

“Scott is a Cardiff man – he is entwined with this Football Club and wants to see us flourish and succeed. He has been extremely supportive to me since I’ve come in and appears to be relishing in his new role at Cardiff City. He will be an integral part of what we do as we move forward.

“Marge’s (Martyn Margetson) appointment is also ideal. Sometimes, things fit and with his roots being firmly with us here at Cardiff, we couldn’t have hoped for a better person to come in. He brings experience and will offer a huge amount as part of the management team.

“James and Kevin are fantastic additions as first-team coaches. Again, they are passionate about what they do and bring an enthusiasm to work every single day. As with Scott and Marge, they have a lot to offer and their work with the Group is already bearing fruit. Both are extremely talented coaches and we’re fortunate to have them here with us. It’s a sentiment felt by the staff and players.

“There is a mutual respect here at Cardiff City, we’ve quickly realised that. Our squad has bought in to this new management team and it’s evident that they are enjoying doing what they are doing again, embracing the change and enjoying the challenges day to day. Because of that, we are very quickly moving forward as a Group.

“I’d also like to thank James McCarthy and Darran Lovell who have assisted us at first-team level in recent weeks and now return to our Academy and Development setup. We are fortunate to have good people like them here at Cardiff City as we build towards the future.”

Further reaction to the appointments to follow later this week. Details of Academy Management restructures to follow in due course.
