UEFA EURO 2016 | GOOD LUCK GUNNAR!

Club News

Everyone at Cardiff City FC would like to congratulate Aron Gunnarsson upon being named in Iceland’s official UEFA Euro 2016 twenty-three man squad.

Gunnar skippered his country throughout their successful qualification campaign, as they finished second in Group A. In doing so, Iceland have reached their first ever major tournament – becoming the smallest nation ever to do so.

In France, Gunnar’s Iceland will line up in Group F alongside Austria, Hungary and Portugal, with their opening match taking place on 14th June in Saint-Étienne against Cristiano Ronaldo and co.

We wish Gunnar all the best in what will be a momentous occasion for both him and his country. We'll keep you updated with any further Cardiff City involvements at Euro 2016 as they are announced...

Watch what happened when Gunnar went up against Connors on FIFA 16… only to find out that Iceland weren’t included on the game!
