Josh Bowler speaks to the press

Bowler pre-Plymouth Argyle | We're positive going into it

Interviews
Josh Bowler spoke to the press ahead of our Sky Bet Championship match at Plymouth Argyle, reflecting on our busy run of recent fixtures.

"Obviously we're not the happiest, because football is results-based." Josh began. "But, we have a lot of players who have played so many games in the Championship - they've been through this, they know what it's all about.

"Especially around Christmas, we knew it was going to be a tricky period. Obviously we would have liked to pick up more wins, maybe some better performances. But, we're still just outside the Play-Offs and we've still got half of the season left.

"We've got to be positive, because it's still in our grasp. Nothing is out of reach yet, so we've just got to keep pushing."

The winger turned his attention to Plymouth Argyle, who sit 19th in the Championship table ahead of Saturday's clash.

He said: "It's going to be tough. They've got a really set style, which we've looked long and hard at. We've got a way to play against that, and hopefully overcome that distinct style of play.

"We know they're very good at home, and it's a tough place to go. But, we're all prepared for it. We've had a good few meetings, looking at how we can attack them and get at their back five.

"They've got a new manager, so we've focused a lot on their last games. We really know how they play and we're set up to beat that, so we're positive going into it."

Josh looked ahead to the rest of the campaign, with the Bluebirds in a promising league position with 19 matches still to play.

"Like I said earlier, we're right there, it's in our grasp. There's always a team or two who go on these runs in the Championship. Like last year, you saw Middlesbrough, the year before it was Forest.

"You go on those runs when you win nine or ten out of 12 or 13 games. Why can't that be us? If we do that then we're going to be in the Play-Offs, so we've just got to think positively and try to do that.

"I came here in the summer pushing for the Play-Offs, of course. With the players we brought in, with the manager and with the discussions that we had, it was always the goal to push for the Play-Offs. The core of this team is really good, and we've just got to believe that we can make it."
