Erol Bulut

Bulut post-Middlesbrough | We still have to work hard

Interviews
Erol Bulut spoke to the media after the Bluebirds fell to defeat against Middlesbrough.

“In the first half, both teams were tactically concentrated, and didn’t allow many chances.” Erol began. “Neither side had many chances in the first half. One or two, nothing special.

”In the second half, we showed a little bit of tiredness, because we travelled after only two days, so we could not recover really well.

“We could see the tiredness on the field, and we have many injuries. But it is not an excuse.

”It’s normal, because after the opponent scored we had to go and take risks to open them and get our chances. But, the opponent was playing well and didn’t allow us to make chances.“

The gaffer commented on Karlan Grant’s first half chance and the nature of the Boro opener, before providing an injury update on several players.

He said: ”With KG, we had a chance in the first half. If he could score that goal, maybe the game would change totally.

”I don’t want to say anything more, but for me [the first goal] was a clear offside. We saw it from here, so I don’t know if the referee sees something different. We have to accept this.

”In the end, we didn’t score. But this is not the end of the world. We will have a good rest and be prepared for the Watford game at home.

Jamilu Collins already had pain on his knee from the last game, and also with his hamstring. We didn’t take the risk of putting him out to play today.

”Today, Kion Etete also felt a pain with his hamstring. I hope it is nothing serious, but we have to go on with what we have.

”We are in a good way, if we look at the last four games, we did well. When I see all the games, and where we are right now, we can be satisfied - for now. We want more, so that’s why we still have to work hard to continue in a good way.”
