Erol Bulut speaks to the press

Bulut pre-Stoke City | We are together

Interviews
Erol Bulut spoke to the press ahead of facing Stoke City in the Sky Bet Championship on Saturday.

Both sides head into the fixture in form, with City winning their last two and the Potters claiming three consecutive league victories.

“It will be a tough game," Erol began. "The last three games that they have won, it shows how difficult the game will be on Saturday, but we can’t forget that right now, we are in a good way and are in a good mood.

“We had a great win in Huddersfield, which was not an easy game for us. We scored four goals and could have scored more. Then, at home against Bristol, also a tough game, but it was a good performance. I’m expecting the same against Stoke on Saturday.

“It gives confidence to the team. With this confidence, we have to show our quality against Stoke. We show that we are a team, nobody is doing something on his own, we fight together, we win together and we lose together. Our players understand this well.”

The City boss continued by giving an injury update on his squad.

“We don’t have new injuries and some player came back like Yakou [Méïté], Kion [Etete] is back, so it’s only Aaron [Ramsey] and Callum [O’Dowda] that are still preparing.

“They still need a bit of time. With Aaron, it looks like he will be back earlier than we were expecting. Callum will need a bit more, but right now, they are both doing well.”

The Bluebirds currently sit sixth in the table, having recorded 23 points from the opening 14 fixtures.

Reflecting on the campaign so far, Erol concluded: “This season, it started great and the guys are going great. I have really good characters in the team. Everybody is one and we want to keep it like that.

“We will try everything to keep our level high. For sure, I will push my players to keep it high. I see in my players what they can really give. I think they can give more than we showed until now. I hope I can push more from them.”
