Emily Bayliss and Amy Williams join Cardiff City...

Cardiff City FC Women | Bayliss & Williams join the Bluebirds

Women
We're excited to announce the signings of defender Emily Bayliss and winger Amy Williams.

The two new Bluebirds have linked up with Cardiff City FC Women ahead of the 2021/22 Adran Premier campaign.

Emily Bayliss...

Speaking at Cardiff City Stadium, Emily said: “I’m really pleased to be here. I’ve been a fan for years and years. It’s great to be a part of the Club. I was playing at Caldicot with Cerys Pinchard a few years ago. I stopped playing for a while, but the trials came about, and Cerys encouraged me to come here. The girls have been really welcoming. I’ve previously played in a more attacking role, but I’m going to be playing as a left-back here. It’s different to what I know but I’m working really hard with Iain and the team to make that change. I know Cerys made the move from midfield to defence when she joined City and I know with hard work and dedication that I’ll get there. As a squad, silverware is definitely something we’re looking for this year. We’re all aiming for a successful season.”

Amy Williams...

Amy gave her thoughts on linking up with the Bluebirds, saying: “I’m really excited for the season. It’s a big move for me. I’m looking forward to improving as a player and helping the team. I like to attack quickly. It’s a big part of my game to get on the ball and help the team move forward. It is great to be here.”

Iain Darbyshire added: “Emily was a bit of a surprise package. She came in via our trial. Instantly, we knew she was a very good player. Tenacious, lots of energy, unbelievable fitness and very technical as well. She’s doing really well in training – learning a new position and ways of playing. It’s a pleasure to have her on board. We’re excited to see what she can do and the strengths she can bring to the team. Amy is a great signing for us. She has electric pace and is exactly the type of player we needed. She’ll add a threat going forward and something different to our already talented front line. We’re excited to see how both Emily and Amy develop in the coming season. We’re really pleased with our squad now!”
