Cardiff City’s U18’s team have been in scintillating league form of late, boasting an impressive seven league wins in a row.

Young Bluebird Dan Ola is among one of many players in form in the squad, particularly enjoying an impressive start to 2024. The attacker got on the scoresheet in City’s 3-1 win over Millwall and in the recent 2-0 win against Ipswich Town.

“I’ve been working really hard in training,” Dan began. “We’ve been working on things we need to improve on. We know as players representing Cardiff City, our morals are to work hard in and out of training.

“We’ve won seven on the bounce now and we’re doing really well. The morale of the team is really high, and we’re all just looking forward to the next game, then the next game after that. We’re all training really well and all we can do is keep going to try and win more games.”

The Young Bluebirds currently sit in third in the PDL South with three games in hand on teams above them. Dan has his eyes set on a high targets this season.

Dan continued: “I think we can compete for the top spot. We’ve obviously got games in hand over other teams but with our form right now, we feel like can win every game, so I think we’re capable of going all the way.

“I think I can reach a high goal tally this season if I work hard and stay at it. It’s been shown in and out of training that I have been improving and it’s important that I stay at it now.”

Dan has been at the Club since he was eight years old, joining during the Pre-Academy phase.

The Port Talbot born striker concluded by reflecting on his journey so far and his aims for further progress.

“I’m proud of how far I’ve come,” he added. “When I was younger, I didn’t really expect to get as far as I have, but through hard work, I’ve done really well.

“Hopefully now I can go on and play for the U21’s and even the First Team. That’s the goal and I can’t wait to see what happens.”

Next up for the U18’s is a home fixture against Bournemouth U18’s at Cardiff International Sports Campus on Saturday January 20th, looking to extend their rich vein of form.
