Giles pre-Preston

Ryan Giles spoke to Cardiff City TV ahead of our trip to Deepdale on Saturday afternoon, which will see the Bluebirds return to action following the international break.

“It’s good to be back, and it’s good to have all of the group back together as well,” the winger began. “We’re just looking forward to Saturday now.

“It’s a game that we’ve got to look at as one that we can win. We’ve got to go there full of confidence, especially on the back of a win last time out.

“All the boys have been away on internationals and some of us have had a good rest, so we’ve come back together and now we’re ready for that game on the weekend.”

The 21-year-old, who has recorded seven assists this season, spoke highly of his time in South Wales so far, and was also full of praise for the new coaching team in the Welsh capital.

Ryan continued: “I’ve been enjoying my football all the way through since I joined Cardiff City. I think my experience as an individual has been great. It’s not nice when you’re losing, but I enjoy every game I play in – you’ve got to embrace it.

Steve Morison and Tom Ramasut have done a great job so far, and it was nice to get a result on the board in the last game. That’s what it’s about. It was great for the fans, they needed it and so did we. To get it in that fashion, that’s what you dream of when you play football.”

Having been deployed at left wing-back during the past three matches, Ryan concluded with a comment on the style of play the Bluebirds have adopted in recent weeks.

“I think we’ve just got to be brave on the ball. We are trying to play out from the back and get some more control on the ball, and I think we’ve been doing it well."

He added: “It’s a stepping stone, because it’s not going to happen overnight. But from what we’ve shown in games so far, I think we’ve done it really well. We’ve just got to build on that now, and with positive performances come results."
