Harris | Tonight was a good test of character

Interviews
Neil Harris spoke at Brunton Park following the Bluebirds' 4-3 FA Cup Third Round replay victory over Carlisle United.

The City boss praised his side's resilience as they secured their place in Round Four of the competition.

"Tonight was a good test of character," he began. "I said to the boys after the Swansea match – I can't wait to see them in these circumstances.

"We needed that winning mentality and individual characteristics to be in the hat for the next round, and we got that. It's disappointing to concede three goals, hugely, but I'm really pleased with the four we scored."

Harris went on to give full credit to the Cumbrians as he praised the 348 Bluebirds that made the long trip up to Brunton Park.

"They were two proper cup ties," he said. "That's what the FA Cup is all about and nights like that are why the competition is so special. It could have been an upset – I would have liked to have seen us be a little bit more comfortable in defence.

"But I'd like to place on record our thanks to the fans that travelled. I can't quite believe the amount that were here – it's a long old drive. But we're really pleased for everyone."
