Harris | We showed character

Interviews

BRENTFORD REACTION | HARRIS

City boss Neil Harris spoke at Cardiff City Stadium following the Bluebirds’ 2-2 draw with Brentford on Saturday afternoon.

The Bluebirds came back from two goals behind thanks to first half efforts from Junior Hoilett and Joe Ralls. The hosts were arguably the better side after the break, but were unable to find a winning goal.

"We showed character to come from two behind,” began Neil. “We found our way back into the game, got a little bit higher up the pitch, caused a few turnovers and then scored a very good goal, with Junior Hoilett heading it into the net.

“Then we really started to play, caused them problems and I was delighted with Joe Ralls to come back and get the goal.

“I thought second-half we could step-on from that. We turned the ball around too cheaply at times that put us on the back foot.

“When we put them under pressure, we gained the ball in good areas and we certainly had the best chances of the game.”

Harris continued: “Probably the most clear-cut decision that I’ve moaned about in recent weeks was the foul on Junior. Decisions can’t keep going against us.”

“We’re five points off, so it is still all to play for with ten games to go. We need to go on a run of unbeaten games to make that late push.”
