The Bluebirds currently sit second in the WPWL standings, six points behind Swansea City with a game in hand, and better than both Cardiff Met and Port Talbot Town on the league table by goal difference. City have won three of their four matches in the WPWL so far this season, with only one loss recorded in all competitions at this stage in their campaign.

Kate Jeremiah and Alana Murphy top the goal scoring board for the Women's team presently, with 13 and 11 goals scored in all competitions, respectively.

City's last WPWL match was on November 10th, as the Bluebirds defeated Briton Ferry Llansawel 2-1 as Alana Murphy bagged a brace at Cardiff International Sports Campus.

Cyncoed currently sit seventh in the WPWL table, with their sole point in three matches played coming from a 2-2 draw against sixth placed Briton Ferry Llansawel.

The Mighty Oaks finished in seventh place at the end of their 2018/19 season, with 11 points taken from their 16 matches played. 

Last Time Out

City last met Sunday's opponents on April 7th, with the Bluebirds defeating Cyncoed away from home and moving up to second on the WPWL table.

Alana Murphy’s first-half brace sent City into a comfortable lead at the break and after the interval, Emily Griffiths and Zoe Atkins added their names on the scoresheet, before Sophie Norman netted a consolation goal for the hosts at the end.

With the visiting City side going 4-0 up with 20 minutes remaining, the hosts managed to score a consolation goal one minute into added time, which proved to be the encounter’s concluding action as the Bluebirds sealed two victories from the season’s two meetings with the side.
