Norwich City’s manager is David Wagner, who was appointed in January 2023, following the departure of previous boss Dean Smith.

In his playing career, Wagner operated as a striker, representing the likes of Mainz and Schalke, as well as earning eight caps for the USA national team.

Following his retirement, he worked with current Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp at Borussia Dortmund, as Wagner was named manager of Borussia Dortmund II in July 2011.

Having departed Die Borussen in 2015, the German moved to Huddersfield Town, where he led the club to promotion to the Premier League in 2017 and achieved survival in the top-flight in the following year.

Since leaving the Terriers in 2019, Wagner has had managerial roles at Schalke and Young Boys, prior to his move to Carrow Road earlier this year.

The Canaries are currently 17th in the Championship, having made a disappointing start to the campaign.

Wagner’s men have won five of their opening 15 fixtures and have suffered eight defeats.

The side’s last four Sky Bet Championship matches have all resulted in losses, most recently at home to Blackburn Rovers.

On their travels this campaign, Norwich have won one of their seven away fixtures, falling to four defeats. The Canaries have also conceded 30 goals in the league this season, the most in the division.

A positive for Norwich City this season has been the form of winger Jonathan Rowe.

The 20-year-old has netted eight goals, averaging a goal every 143 minutes, as well as contributing with two assists.

Rowe has been with the club since 2014, having started out at AFC Wembley. Breaking into the first team in 2021, the winger has impressed for the Canaries so far this season.

After scoring in all four of the opening matches of the season, his most recent goal came in a 2-1 defeat to Middlesbrough in October.

During his career, Anthony Pilkington represented both the Bluebirds and the Canaries.

After impressing at Huddersfield Town, Pilkington joined Norwich City in 2009, making his Premier League debut on the opening day of the season against Wigan Athletic.

The winger notably scored the winning goal against Manchester United in a 1-0 victory at Carrow Road.

Becoming a Bluebird in 2014, Pilkington was part of the side that earned promotion to the Premier League in 2018.

Making over a century of appearances for the Club, ‘Pilks’ scored 20 goals during his time in the Welsh capital.
