Steve Morison on the touchline at CCS...

Morison post-Blackpool | It shows how far we've come

Interviews
Steve Morison spoke to the press at Cardiff City Stadium following the Bluebirds’ 1-1 draw with Blackpool on Saturday afternoon.

Joel Bagan’s third consecutive and third senior goal sealed a point for City from a hard-fought encounter.

“The mood is alright in the dressing room,” began Steve. “Frustration that we haven’t won a game at home, but it shows how far we’ve come as a group. We weren’t as intense as we should have been in the first-half though.

“The second-half performance was really good, there were a couple of moments where they nearly hurt us, and luckily we’ve got Joel Bagan who likes to put the ball in the back of the net.

“We’ve got a young group, we work really hard and it shows that we’re together - no one wanted to lose that game and the crowd were great.”

The City boss continued, discussing the point, and the strength within the squad at the moment.

“We haven’t drawn many, we just seem to win or lose, but it’s good that we’re able to grind out a draw if we need to, coming from behind but not just sitting back and wanting to take a point.

“A wing-back has to be really athletic to get up and down the pitch, Joel decided to go one step further, arrive on the penalty spot and it was a lovely finish.

“Joe Ralls has just got a slight knock - unfortunately it happens. At the minute we’ve got a nice squad, one that’s competing and gives us the ability to not take a risk when we don’t need to.”
