Morison post-Huddersfield | We all needed that
Steve Morison spoke to the press at Cardiff City Stadium following the Bluebirds’ dramatic 2-1 victory over Huddersfield on Saturday afternoon.
Kieffer Moore’s late headed double secured three points to the delight of all at the Club.
“The lads and the fans needed that, everyone needed that,” began Steve following the final whistle. “If you’re going to do it, do it the fun way: this is why we love football, we gave ourselves a mountain to climb through our own poor bit of play, we didn’t deserve that, but outside of that we were excellent.
“It’s been a tough few months for everybody, it’s a big boost for Kieffer and everyone, we haven’t won for ten games and we’ve won in the best way to win a game of football with two late goals.
“Everyone’s pleased; they should be and off the back of this, there shouldn’t be anything negative happening.”
Academy graduate Isaak Davies came off the bench to assist the winner and Steve went on to speak about the young forward’s impact, before mentioning the dressing room atmosphere.
“Mark Harris started to tire a little bit and I just felt that Isaak could really add some pace, and when he got the ball in that one-on-one situation, he was electric over those 10-15 yards, got the cross in, then Kieffer was there to do the rest. I'm really, really pleased for him.
“The words were ‘our season starts here’, we all loved it, that’s what we’re about, my message to them was to thank them for being incredible in the last two weeks, that’s your just rewards for getting better each game.
“You’re only as good as your last game and we’re all really buzzing.”
