Morison pre-Barnsley | We've got excellent options

Interviews
Bluebirds boss Steve Morison spoke to the press ahead of City's trip to Barnsley on Wednesday, beginning with a summary of a busy Deadline Day in the Welsh capital which saw Uche Ikpeazu arrive at the club.

"From our point of view, we need people who want to be here and want to fight, who make us better as a group and can push us on." Steve began.

"Uche will bring everything you saw from him at the end of last season. For me, he is a fantastic signing. It's another person in the building with a point to prove.

"It was something that we spoke about right at the start of the window, and it just made sense that we got him in as soon as we could.

"I think we're in a much better place than where we were 24 hours ago. We've got excellent options in areas, we've got experience and youth, and a bit of pace in the team. We've got a bit of everything."

Ciaron Brown, Tom Sang

Several members of the First Team squad departed South Wales on loan, with the boss stressing the importance of regular football for those young players.

"It benefits everyone. Ciaron Brown wants to play football, and it's a good opportunity for him to go and play at Oxford. Keenan Patten needs to go and play men's football. We need to see what he can do at Hereford.

"It will be a really good experience for Kieron Evans, especially going away from home and going to a really good team in Northern Ireland. It will be great to watch his progress over the next six months.

"Tom Sang really wanted to go and play at right wing-back, so he's gone to St. Johnstone. We'll monitor him and that's something to look at in the summer."

Turning his attention to our midweek match at Oakwell, Morro urged his men to replicate their performance from Sunday's victory over Nottingham Forest at Cardiff City Stadium.

He said: "The lads are the ones who need to feel confidence and feel that belief, and that comes from results. We need to make sure that we continue on that upwards curve now.

"From our point of view, we've got two huge games either side of Liverpool. After that, we can really start looking to where we want to get to, and try to get ourselves up the table."

"We've put Sunday's game to bed, and we're fully concentrated on Barnsley now. Let's get a good result, and then we can enjoy the weekend.
