Wintle post-Blackpool | We took the game to them

Interviews
Following their 1-1 draw against Blackpool on Saturday afternoon, Ryan Wintle spoke to the press to discuss the result.

Going into the interval at half-time trailing to the visitors, the Bluebirds equalised early in the second half through Joel Bagan, who scored his third goal in as many fixtures. Battling hard for the duration, City were eventually forced to settle for a hard-earned point at CCS.

“I think that we went in at half-time and tried to sort it out, because it was a bit sluggish in the first half," began Ryan. "We didn’t really impose ourselves as we’d have liked to, so we spoke through it, then came out for the second half and took the game to them.

“Some of the lads feel hard done by coming away with only a point, which is a positive considering where we’d been previously."

Having reflected on the performance, Wintle continued by discussing the youth presence in the squad, showering praise on goalscorer Bagan before shifting focus towards the next few weeks in the league campaign.

“The team now has got a lot more youth in it," said the midfielder. "If you look at Joel Bagan for example, he wasn’t in the team, has come in and now has scored three in three. We’re all buzzing for him.

“It’s brilliant to see that and hopefully he’ll continue to get better as we all do as a group, looking to finish higher in the table."
