HUDDERSFIELD TOWN AFC GROUND SAFETY ADVICE

Community
Huddersfield Town AFC have written to Cardiff City Football Club in respect of Saturday’s fixture at the John Smith’s Stadium. The correspondence is as follows:

“In acknowledging both the responsibility of the club, as members of the FA, and that of the Stadium Company, to assure good crowd behaviour at matches we have to address the difficulty of persistent standing of supporters in seated areas throughout a game.

“We have attempted to make our own supporters aware of our stance and the legal requirement regarding standing and would ask that you publicise our policy to your supporters before they travel to the John Smith’s Stadium.

“We do not wish any supporter to jeopardise his or her own safety and that of other people. We therefore request that all supporters respect the terms of our sports grounds licence, their own safety and that of others and remain seated – it is an offence for any spectator to persistently stand in a seated area throughout the game.

“We wish to produce an atmosphere in which all supporters feel comfortable and safe to enjoy matches and trust you will assist us in this aim.

“Thank you for your help and co-operation in this matter.”
