MATCH PREVIEW: WOLVES v CARDIFF CITY

Match Previews

Venue: Molineux Stadium
Date: Saturday 16th January, 3pm K.O.

The Bluebirds make the trip to Molineux this Saturday to take on Wolves, who are currently level on points with Russell Slade's men.

THE OPPOSITION

Wolves have certainly enjoyed the start of 2016, winning four games on the spin in the Sky Bet Championship since their 4-1 defeat to Sheffield Wednesday back on 20th December.

That run has seen Wolves rise from seventeenth in the table to tenth in less than a month.

Following Benik Afobe’s departure to AFC Bournemouth, Kenny Jackett moved winger Michał Żyro into a forward position for his League début against Fulham last time out, and the Poland international repaid the favour by netting twice in a 3-2 victory.

Björn Sigurðarson is back in contention for Wolves after picking up an injury in their FA Cup defeat to West Ham, while Kortney Hause and long-term absentee Nouha Dicko are not available.

CLUB CONNECTIONS
Scott Malone is the only player who could face his former side this weekend.

The City left-back won Academy Player of the Year at Wolves, before enjoying loan spells at Újpest, Southend United, Burton Albion and AFC Bournemouth.

Malone also made six appearances for England U19s during his time at Wolves, lining up on the opposite flank to Liverpool right-back Nathanial Clyne.

MEMORABLE MEETING
